IV drips are not suitable for everyone. If the doctor feels a drip is not right for you, we will tell you honestly and suggest a better option.

What Goes Into a Drip

A drip is mostly sterile fluid, sometimes with added minerals or vitamins. Tap a bubble or a name to see what each one is, in plain words.

Saline fluid

The base of most drips

Sterile salt water that is close to the body's own fluids. It is the base of most drips and helps with hydration.

Your doctor decides what is suitable for you. Not every ingredient is right for everyone, and many people only need fluids, or no drip at all.

Safety Comes First

Five layers of care surround every drip we give. Tap a ring or a layer to see what it means for you.

  • A doctor reviews your health, medicines and allergies before any drip. If a drip is not right for you, we will say so.

  • Your drip is set up by a licensed nurse trained in IV care, who stays with you from start to finish.

  • Needles, lines and bags are sterile, opened in front of you, used once and disposed of safely.

  • The nurse checks how you feel and watches the drip site the whole time, and stops if anything seems wrong.

  • You get clear aftercare advice, and we follow up afterwards to make sure you are feeling well.

Before and After Your Drip

A little preparation helps your drip go smoothly, and a few simple steps afterwards help you feel your best.

Before your drip

Eat a light meal

A small meal a few hours before helps you feel comfortable during the drip.

Drink water

Sip water through the day, unless your doctor has told you otherwise.

Wear comfortable sleeves

Loose sleeves make it easy for the nurse to reach your arm.

Tell us about your medicines

Share your medicines, allergies and health conditions during the assessment.

PrepareRecover

After your drip

Keep the site clean

Leave the small dressing on as advised and keep the area clean and dry.

Rest if needed

Take it easy for a while if you feel tired after your drip.

Watch for swelling or redness

Tell us, or seek medical help, if the site becomes painful, swollen, red or warm, or if you feel unwell.

General advice only. Always follow the aftercare instructions your nurse gives you.

When to Get Urgent Help

IV drips at home are usually calm and simple, but your safety comes first. Know these signs, during the drip or in the hours after it.

If you notice any of these signs

Stop and call emergency services or go to the emergency department.

If this happens during the drip, tell the nurse at once. A home visit is not for emergencies.

All urgent signs

  • Problems at the drip site: Swelling, pain or coldness where the line goes in.
  • Fever or chills: Shivering, feeling hot or cold, during or after the drip.
  • Breathing trouble: Breathlessness or tightness in the chest.
  • Allergic reaction: Rash, or swelling of the face, lips or throat.
  • Dizziness or fainting: Feeling faint, very light-headed or passing out.
  • Chest pain: Any new pain, pressure or tightness in the chest.

This list is general guidance only and does not cover every situation. If you are worried about how you feel, get medical help straight away.

Questions About IV Therapy

Pop a bubble to read the answer. Honest answers, with no promises we cannot keep.

Is IV therapy safe at home?

For most healthy adults it is a simple procedure when done properly. A licensed doctor checks your health first, and a licensed nurse places the drip with sterile single-use equipment and stays with you throughout.

Question 1 of 9

Is IV therapy safe at home?

For most healthy adults it is a simple procedure when done properly. A licensed doctor checks your health first, and a licensed nurse places the drip with sterile single-use equipment and stays with you throughout.

Who should not have a drip?

A drip may not be suitable for people with some heart, kidney or blood pressure conditions, during pregnancy, or with certain medicines or allergies. The doctor will check this and tell you honestly if a drip is not right for you.

How long does it take?

Most drips take about 30 to 60 minutes. With the doctor check and setting up, plan for around an hour and a half for the whole visit.

Does it hurt?

You may feel a small sharp scratch when the cannula goes in. After that most people feel little or nothing. Tell the nurse at once if the drip site becomes painful or swollen.

Do vitamin drips boost immunity?

The evidence for vitamin drips in healthy people is limited, so we make no promises about immunity, energy or detox. A drip can help with hydration, and the doctor will explain what to realistically expect.

Can I book for two?

Yes. You can book a drip for two people at the same address and time. Each person has their own doctor assessment and their own sterile kit.

What areas do you cover?

We visit homes, hotels and offices across Dubai. Share your location when you book and we will confirm the visit time.

Do I need blood tests?

Most people do not need a blood test before a simple hydration drip. If the doctor needs more information about your health, they may suggest one first.

How do I book?

Book online with your preferred date, time and drip. We confirm the price and time, then a doctor assesses you before the nurse starts the drip.
